Meet the Team
Dr. Gerry Considine
Dr Gerry Considine trained as a GP across rural South Australia and settled in Clare with his GP wife, Mel, in 2015. He has attained further skills and training in skin cancer medicine over the past 10 years and holds a Master's Degree in Skin Cancer Medicine from The University of Queensland.
Gerry has been the principal investigator in Australia for two large international studies involving emerging skin cancer detection technology. As part of their medical training, Gerry tutors 5th year students and first year doctors in skin cancer diagnosis. He learnt to fly in Port Pirie and holds both recreational and private pilot licences.
Along with specialist skin cancer care, Gerry is able to complete aviation medicals for pilots.
Dr. Melanie Considine
Mel grew up on the Limestone Coast and has been a rural GP for the past 10 years. In 2014, she worked across the Eyre Peninsula with her husband Gerry providing emergency care and GP consults including skin cancer care. Now based in Clare, she has a special interest in diagnosing and managing skin cancer.

Mel holds a Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Surgery and was awarded the David Game Prize for the highest GP exam marks across South Australia in the year that she Fellowed.

Rachel Braisher
Rachel is a Registered Nurse with over 18 years of experience working in operating theatres and rural general practice. She grew up on a farm in the Mid North before moving to Adelaide for study and work. She moved back to the region six years ago with her husband and two children. She understands the importance of skin cancer screening and early detection having a family history of melanoma and three herself.
Rachel has had hands-on experience cutting out skin cancers for the past few years with Dr Gerry and holds Skin Cancer College of Australia entry level certificates and the Certificate in Dermoscopy which has improved her skill in the diagnosis of skin cancer lesions.
Sam Haines
Sam has always lived in the country, having grown up across places that our clinic now visits like the Riverland, Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula. She settled with her family in Clare and also works in theatre at the hospital there. Sam is passionate about helping rural patients by providing quality surgical and preventative healthcare. To that end, she has completed the Certificate of Dermoscopy via the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and accompanies Dr Gerry on outreach excision lists.
When not working in theatre or skin cancer clinics, Sam can be found spending time with her family and exploring the region.
Melissa Marshall
Melissa moved to Naracoorte with her family when she was three and has lived there ever since. She started her career in the health care sector initially as a medical receptionist, then gained more qualifications in aged care work through to nursing. She has been a nurse for 17 years and continues to have a passion for education and support for patients and their families.
Outside of work, Melissa loves family holidays and growing all sorts of produce in her orchard and vegetable patch.
Lauren Oswald
Lauren is a Registered Nurse/Midwife with almost 30 years of nursing and midwifery experience in a number of hospitals in Adelaide but has spent the last 20+ years working at Wudinna Hospital on the Eyre Peninsula. Lauren moved to Wudinna from Adelaide in 2001 to experience rural health and fell in love with the lifestyle and a farmer. She now lives on the farm at Mt Damper with her husband and children growing cereal crops and beef cattle.
Outside of work Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, watching sport, fishing and relaxing at the beach.
Luke Mensforth
Luke grew up in the Riverland region and moved to Clare in 2013. He has a background in education and leadership, having worked as a teacher in secondary schools for 14 years whilst also in a school leadership role for the latter 9 of those years.

Luke's journey in educational leadership has centered on strategic planning and management to improve IT services, encompassing site wide network, infrastructure and hardware upgrades as well as software integration into classrooms. His experience leading a team, coupled with his background of policy and procedure development, is advantageous as the Practice Manager for RSCS.
